Serco offers space capability across the full space lifecycle from satellite testing to Launch services, LEOP to spacecraft operations, space surveillance to data management, and supporting downstream application development. 

With this in mind, we are seeking a European-based Project Controller who provides day‑to‑day operational support to the IRIS² project control function, ensuring that project execution is effectively monitored, coordinated and reported.

You would have the opportunity to contribute to activities like the support of control boards and project reviews by tracking actions, decisions, risks and review items, consolidating inputs for internal and external reporting, and maintaining cost, schedule, HR and financial data. You would also contribute to administrative and financial processes, including contract change tracking, procurement and cost status follow‑up, while ensuring that project information remains accurate, traceable and up to date to enable informed management decisions and timely project delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational and transactional support to the project control function, ensuring efficient execution of day‑to‑day project control activities.
  • Prepare, consolidate and maintain project reporting, including the collection of inputs for internal and external reporting.
  • Record, track and follow up project actions, ensuring decisions, open points and commitments are monitored and closed in a timely manner.
  • Support the management of project control boards, ensuring actions, decisions and outcomes are properly tracked and followed.
  • Support the organisation and control of project reviews, including coordination of documentation deliveries, tracking of review items, and preparation of minutes of meeting.
  • Collect and consolidate inputs for the project risk register, supporting risk identification, monitoring and reporting.
  • Maintain and follow up contract change records, ensuring traceability and up‑to‑date status of changes.
  • Perform administrative and financial control tasks, including checks of internal forms, processing of procurement and confirmation workflows.
  • Support monitoring of the project cost status, contributing to financial visibility and control.
  • Maintain and update the project human resources plan, ensuring alignment between staffing, workload and project needs.
  • Maintain financial and project control databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and availability for reporting and decision‑making.
  • Perform general project administrative tasks required to support effective project execution and governance.
 
Successful Candidate:
  • Provide clear, baseline‑driven project schedules, cost trackers and forecasts showing actuals, variances and outlook.
  • Deliver accurate and timely project reporting that consolidates schedule, cost, risks, actions and issues.
  • Maintain reliable action, decision and open‑point registers with clear ownership and closure tracking.
  • Produce and keep up‑to‑date risk registers linking risks to schedule, cost and resource impacts.
  • Support control boards and reviews through structured preparation, minutes, action follow‑up and status visibility.
  • Ensure consistent and high‑quality data across all project control tools, logs and databases.
  • Integrate inputs from technical teams, configuration control and finance into a coherent control picture.
  • Provide management‑ready dashboards and summaries tailored to different stakeholder needs.
  • Identify early deviations in schedule, cost or resources and proactively support corrective actions.
  • Ensure audit‑ready, traceable project records that can be confidently explained and defended.

Technical:
  • Advanced use of financial and planning tools (e.g., MS Excel).
  • Work experience in the Space domain will be an asset.
  • Need to be EU national and eligible to obtain EU Personal Security Clearance.
