For our activities in ESA-ESTEC, we are currently looking for a PA and Safety Support Engineer to work onsite in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain the Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) requirements baseline for space projects and programmes.
  • Prepare and manage PA&S documentation in line with ESA standards, procedures and requirements.
  • Review contractors' PA&S plans, specifications and proposed activities.
  • Monitor PA&S status, including non-conformances, anomalies, failures, waivers, deviations and critical items.
  • Support Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRB), Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and other project review boards. 
  • Assess contractors' compliance with PA&S requirements and support quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in manufacturing, integration, assembly and test (MAIT) activities, inspections, audits and test witnessing.
  • Support acceptance reviews and contribute to the definition of formal acceptance requirements.
  • Prepare project review documentation, data packages, reports and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate with PA&S discipline experts, including RAMS, Software PA, Materials & Processes (M&P), EEE and Cleanliness & Contamination specialists.
  • Support project managers in managing non-conformances, waivers, deviations, problems and critical items.
  • Contribute to project reviews, safety reviews and technical assessments.
  • Support technology readiness assessments and R&D activities.
  • Witness spacecraft manufacturing, integration and testing activities at contractor sites and research facilities.
  • Support launch campaign activities related to Product Assurance & Safety.
  • Prepare PA&S reports, dashboards, trend analyses and status updates for ESA.
  • Support training activities, knowledge management and lessons learned initiatives.
  • Work closely with multinational teams, contractors and ESA stakeholders to ensure quality and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Profile:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the space sector.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance.
  • Proven experience supporting Product and Quality Assurance activities for spacecraft units.
  • Experience with spacecraft-level test campaigns is considered an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver results in complex projects.
  • Candidates must be EU nationals.
